Thomas Bramall and James Gregson opened a metal button manufactory on Second Street in Philadelphia. This advertisement in the local German newspaper said they were prepared to pay the highest price for different products that could be turned into buttons, including old brass pans and kettles, cast and scrap brass, and pewter.
